Companies in multiple locations can take advantage of the Cloud computing and online document while retaining control of their data.

Oh, and I tried google-docs-fs and it hasnt' worked for me yet (permission errors and such when I try to mount it).

Another thing I thought of was backups! I think a well-crafted backup script (rsync?) to place the backups into a mounted cloud location (DropBox? UbuntuOne?) would be handy. Since Linux updates regularly (6-8 mo., 2 yrs for LTS) and you can backup from Synaptic (from what I've heard) an apt-get script that will install everything you currently have installed, so long as you don't do a lot of updates outside of Synaptic then loosing a hard drive or installation just means you reinstall (the latest?) from CD, run the apt-get backed up script and rsync/copy your files down from DropBox/UbuntuOne and you haven't lost much.Drewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16314292724948210056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14426333.post-4892275845753278442009-11-12T09:54:38.943-05:002009-11-12T09:54:38.943-05:00Hi Drew,

With the arrival of Chrome OS, we are set to see a possible upset in the netbook market.

You know, I have never liked Evolution that much. I have always preferred Thunderbird.
Google Reader is undoubtedly the best reader in the world. I just can't seem to do without it.

All in all, I really think if Google should do it's homework well, it can make a significant dent in the market share of Windows though not at the cost of a 'bloddy' fight by MS.Seeraj Muneerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03417289576442689191noreply@blogger.com
